  • WHY SUPPORT US?

Because one in four people will be affected by mental illness at some time in their life.

Because in 70% of cases the first signs of mental illness appear between the ages of 15 and 25, often disrupting education and training.

Because those affected are often still largely excluded from the labour market or, if they have a job, their prospects of going back to work after an episode of mental illness are reduced by the fear of no longer being up to it and/or of how other people may see them.

Because it's hard for employers to find an appropriate response to the needs and capabilities of employees affected, not realising that frequently, effective solutions are available, such as, for example, a phased return to work or adjustments to working hours or job descriptions .

Because being ill or having gone through a period of sickness doesn't mean someone is no longer able to work well and with commitment.

Because together we can achieve better integration for people living with mental illness.

  • YOUR SUPPORT WILL HELP US TO RAISE AWARENESS THAT THIS AFFECTS ONE PERSON IN FOUR.

ATP a.s.b.l. is working to combat the stigma attached to psychiatric problems and those who suffer from them and to fight fatalism and giving up.  We are striving to educate public opinion, promote citizens' action and support those affected in their recovery.

Within companies, most of the time neither employers nor the employees concerned are able to move forward, which  often results in absenteeism, "presenteeism" or "just turning up", loss of employment and the reinforcement of prejudice. Prejudice against those affected is the main source of obstacles to their full involvement.

I support the "I'm giving" awareness campaign.

Help us to tell everyone about our awareness campaign.

I support the "I'm sharing this on my social media " awareness campaign.

  • YOUR SUPPORT WILL MEAN WE CAN PAY FOR VOCATIONAL TRAINING FOR PEOPLE AFFECTED

Often, education and training are disrupted by sickness. In the workshops run by ATP a.s.b.l. some 200 people who are living with a mental illness have found an occupation. We pay particular attention to providing a wide range of work so as to make the best use of each person's abilities. Our activities are designed to adapt to individual potential. It's this potential that we want to develop through vocational training.

I support the "I'm giving" awareness campaign.
